Oscar Shorts 2009 Screening
With Oscar® Night almost upon us it's easy to forget the short people. From this Friday, Shorts International and ShortsTV (Sky Channel 342) put them at the centre of attention with exclusive screenings of THE OSCAR® NOMINATED SHORT FILMS 2009 in Picturehouse cinemas across the country.
With 2 programmes showcasing diverse work in both the Live-Action and Animation categories, this year's nominees include UK animation duo Smith and Foulkes' hilarious THIS WAY UP and Irish entry NEW BOY directed by Steph Green and based on a Roddy Doyle short story. Also screening is the latest Pixar Animation Studios short, PRESTO.
The animation programme will also feature additional films originating from the UK including the BAFTA-nominated VARMINTS and JOHN AND KAREN, a humourous evaluation of human relationships as seen through the eyes of a polar bear and a penguin.
