Film Friends Forever Venue Hunt
We are looking for some new venues to host our future shorts and promos nights in, and this time we wanted to ask you for your thoughts. We’ve received lots of feed back about some of the previous venues, and one of the issues that comes up regularly is the prices of drinks. We are aware of this, and are looking to find a venue with reasonably priced drinks, and good surroundings.
We’ve also always tried to host the events in a central location so that everyone can travel with ease, however this narrows our choices considerably. We are willing to widen our search a bit, if you feel that you will come.
So please leave a comment below with your thoughts and suggestions.

hi there, I thought about introducing different types of venues, i.e. nightclubs or theatres. Some I’m thinking of are Cargo nightclub in Shoreditch which has great seating arrangements and good visibility and not bad prices. I’m also thinking of the Young Vic theatre which can evolve a second space or the main house, but the bar has ok prices and is very stylish!

Not sure where the previous ones were held, but two that I know of are the Rich Mix Centre in Bethnal Green (near Brick Lane), and the Fleapit, also in Bethnal Green but near Columbia Road. Neither are that far out, about 10 minutes walk from Liverpool Street.

Hi there
With regards to your hunt for a venue for your film screenings, have you looked at Candid Arts in Torrens Street, Islington? It’s directly behind Angel Tube, so very easy to get to and they used to have a regular short films night down in their basement.
Good hunting
Wayne

Soho Hotel / Covent Garden Hotel…
BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly…
Um… I’m thinking out loud!
Curzon Soho has some nice little rooms.
I’m sure other hotels would as well.

Roxy Bar & Screen might be worth checking out: http://www.roxybarandscreen.com/. Or The Hospital: http://www.thehospitalclub.com/TheHospital/app. Or maybe The Frontline Club (http://www.frontlineclub.com/) or The Cobden Club http://www.cobdenclub.co.uk/.
